Giving back through public service and community engagement is a high priority at Blueprint Financial Group. Below are some of the ways we endeavor to contribute and support those in need in the hopes of having a lasting, positive impact on society at large.
Homestretch is a Virginia-based organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of homelessness and providing permanent housing for homeless families with children. The organization helps people become self-sufficient by giving them the skills, knowledge and hope they need to participate in their community and ultimately support themselves. Founded in 1990, Homestretch has helped more than 2,000 families achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
Blueprint Financial has been deeply involved with Homestretch for 15+ years. In addition to offering financial support, each quarter our office closes its doors for the day and our team dedicates their time to the hands-on work of helping families and supporting the mission. Over the years we have forged a close relationship with the Homestretch staff and with the individuals they serve.
For more than 40 years, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has been granting life-changing wishes for children battling critical illnesses, and Blueprint Financial Group is proud to support the Greater Virginia chapter. Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia has granted more than 5,000 wishes since the chapter’s inception.
Blueprint Financial Group’s Director of Wealth Management, William Cropper, and his wife, Heather, have been involved in Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia for years and Will joined the board in 2020. “Every time you are able to grant a wish and see those smiles, you truly feel the difference that you are making, completely changing a child's life for the better,” he says. “It's truly amazing what a wish come true can do for a child.”
Blueprint Financial Group is also proud to be the presenting sponsor for the Make-A-Wish Ride for Wishes in 2021.
Helping Children Worldwide is a 501c3 organization. Its mission is to transform communities in Sierra Leone, one of the world’s poorest countries, through education, health care and spiritual growth.
Our team is honored to provide financial support, laptop donations and volunteer our time to Helping Children Worldwide. Our founding partner, Ted Shanahan, has served as a Board Member since 2017.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since then, ALSF has evolved into a national fundraising movement with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope.
Through the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, Northwestern Mutual supports the organization as part of a multi-year philanthropic program to fight pediatric cancer, activating a range of programs and events in communities across the country.
